The Northern 11-and-under all-stars are hoping their experience pays off the second time around at the Texas West State Little League Tournament in Abilene.Northern, the Section 1 champion, kicks off play in the 9-11-year-old state tournament when it faces Hewitt Midway for an opening round game at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kirby Lake Park. Ten of the players were also a part of the 2021 Northern team that reached the Texas West state tournament in the 10-and-under bracket last season. The 2021 Northern 10-and-under team went 1-2 in the state tournament.
