Folks in Dallas were mighty excited back in 2009 when the $360 million AT&T Performing Arts Center opened its doors. Its two centerpieces were the Winspear Opera House and the Wyly Theatre. But not everyone was sounding a trumpet. First came the complaints that the Winspear didn't have enough restrooms and the lines were too long. But The Grumpy Coalition saved most of its ire for the seats in the Wyly. And yes, I admit, I was among them. For one, the seats were narrow and hard. They were not even remotely as comfortable as the seats in the Music Hall at Fair Park, which opened in 1925, or the Kalita Humphreys Theater, opened in 1959.
